Experience You Can Audit

A Real Factory, Not a Trading Desk — Every Stage Under Our Own Roof

Zega Apparel began in 2012 with a single sampling room. Today we operate a 50,000 ft² vertically integrated facility with 200+ trained operators, in-house pattern engineering, printing, embroidery, labelling and packaging lines. Because nothing is subcontracted out, we control cost, consistency and calendar — the three variables that break most apparel launches.

That structure is why brands stay: a 200-piece first order can scale to 5,000+ units per drop on the same patterns, the same fabric supplier and the same QC checklist, so fit and colour never drift between production runs.

  • Dedicated project manager per account, with weekly production status updates
  • Documented lab dips, fit samples and pre-production samples before bulk release
  • Sweatshop-free, socially compliant workplace with audited working conditions

Manufacturing Capabilities

One Factory, the Full Production Pipeline

Instead of coordinating a fabric mill, a printer, an embroiderer and a packing house, you brief one team. Fewer handovers means fewer defects and a shorter critical path.

Fabric Sourcing & Development

Combed cotton, GOTS organic, French terry, brushed fleece, tri-blend, recycled polyester and technical nylon. Custom knits developed to your GSM, hand-feel and shrinkage tolerance.

Pattern & Tech Pack Engineering

CAD pattern making, grading, marker planning and full tech packs with measurement charts, stitch call-outs, trim sheets and artwork placement maps.

Printing Methods

Screen printing to 8 colours (plastisol, water-based, discharge), DTG for photographic artwork, all-over sublimation, plus puff, silicone and high-density effects.

Embroidery

Multi-head machines running up to 15 colours: flat, satin, 3D puff, chain stitch, cross stitch and appliqué, with digitised files archived for exact reorders.

Dyeing & Wash Finishes

Reactive and pigment dyeing, garment dye, acid and enzyme wash, stone wash and vintage over-dye effects with lab-dip approval before bulk.

Labelling & Packaging

Woven and printed labels, heat-transfer tags, hang tags, care labels, poly bags, branded cartons, tissue and barcode stickers — assembled to your packing manual.

Our Process

From Tech Pack to Delivered Cartons in Four Controlled Stages

Every stage ends with a written sign-off, so you always know exactly what has been approved before the next cost is committed.

STEP 01

Specification & Costing

Share sketches, reference garments or a tech pack. We confirm fabric, GSM, trims and decoration, then return a costed quotation within 24–48 hours.

STEP 02

Pattern & Sampling

Pattern engineering, lab dips and a fit sample in 7–10 business days. Revisions continue until measurements, hand-feel and print placement are signed off.

STEP 03

Bulk Production

Fabric inspection, cutting, sewing, decoration and finishing with in-line checks at each station. Weekly photo updates from the floor keep you informed.

STEP 04

Inspection & Dispatch

AQL 2.5 final inspection, photo-documented audit, private-label packing, carton marking and DDP, FOB or express dispatch to your warehouse.

Quality control inspection of custom manufactured garments
Quality & Compliance

Four Inspection Gates Between Raw Fabric and Your Carton

Most rejected shipments trace back to problems that were visible early — off-spec fabric, drifting measurements or an unstable print cure. We inspect at the points where those faults appear, not only at the end.

  • Gate 1 — Incoming fabric: 4-point inspection for weight, width, shade continuity and shrinkage after wash testing.
  • Gate 2 — In-line sewing: hourly measurement checks against the approved spec sheet and stitch-per-inch audits.
  • Gate 3 — Post-production: AQL 2.5 statistical sampling covering workmanship, print adhesion and colour fastness.
  • Gate 4 — Pre-shipment: photo-documented final audit, carton count verification and packing-list reconciliation.

How Brands Scale With Us Without Changing Factory

From 200 to 5,000 Units Per Drop — UK Streetwear Label

Challenge: a London label was printing 100 pieces per drop locally and could not grow without losing margin or consistency.

What we did: started with a 200-unit heavyweight hoodie order, locked the fit block and print recipe, then scaled to 1,000, 3,000 and now 5,000+ units per release across hoodies, tees and joggers using the same graded patterns.

25×Volume growth

100%On-time shipments

Concept to 1,000 Units in 8 Weeks — Australian Gym Brand

Challenge: a first-time founder had reference photos only — no tech packs, no fabric knowledge and no factory contacts.

What we did: built tech packs from references, sourced moisture-wicking knit, ran three sample rounds, then produced 1,000 units across five styles with sublimation branding and retail packing.

Buyer FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Apparel Manufacturing

The questions our sourcing team answers most often, with the specifics buyers need for costing and planning.

Our MOQ is 200 pieces per style, per colour. The size breakdown inside that 200 — for example S through 3XL — costs nothing extra. Before any bulk commitment we produce 1–3 pre-production samples so fit, fabric and decoration are confirmed on a physical garment.
Costed quotations are issued within 24–48 hours of receiving specifications. Sampling takes 7–10 business days. Approved bulk orders ship in 2–3 weeks for standard knitwear and fleece, and 3–4 weeks for outerwear, denim or garment-dyed programmes. Rush scheduling can be reviewed case by case.
No. Our in-house pattern and design team builds production-ready tech packs from sketches, reference garments or mood boards. Each pack includes a graded measurement chart, construction and stitch details, trim and label sheets, and artwork placement with print dimensions.
Four gates: 4-point inspection of incoming fabric rolls (weight, width, shade, shrinkage after wash test); hourly in-line measurement and stitch checks on the sewing floor; AQL 2.5 statistical inspection after production covering workmanship, print adhesion and colour fastness; and a final photo-documented audit with carton and packing-list reconciliation before sealing.
Combed ring-spun cotton 180–280 GSM, GOTS-certified organic cotton, French terry 240–320 GSM, brushed fleece 280–460 GSM, tri-blends, recycled and virgin polyester performance knits, poly-spandex four-way stretch, poly-cotton workwear twill and technical nylon ripstop. Bespoke knit development is available with lab-dip and shrinkage approval.
Screen printing up to 8 colours in plastisol, water-based or discharge inks; DTG for photographic artwork; all-over sublimation for polyester; puff, silicone and high-density effects; plus flat, satin, 3D puff, chain-stitch, cross-stitch and appliqué embroidery on multi-head machines running up to 15 colours.
We ship to 30+ markets including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE and Germany. DDP, FOB and express air options are available, with HS codes, country-of-origin labelling and commercial documentation prepared for customs clearance.
Yes. Woven and printed neck labels, care and content labels, heat-transfer tags, hang tags, poly bags, branded boxes, tissue paper and barcode stickers are produced and assembled in-house, so cartons arrive retail-shelf ready or e-commerce pack-ready.
